February is the month of love. Not just those in relationships, but for everyone! Love is as critical for your mind and body as oxygen. The more connected you are, the healthier you will be both physically and emotionally. The less connected you are, the more you are at risk.
Want this year to be healthier and happier with a bountiful boost of LOVE? There are some powerful ways you can nurture that feeling in your life!
- Start by defining (and believing) your own worth. When you value yourself, you will start to treat yourself lovingly, which attracts more love and gives you a deep sense of inner worth. This one distinction helps people be better able to share love rather than trying to “get” love.
- Focus on helping others. When we are actively pursuant of helping others in the world, it helps us to get out of our own head and naturally helps our brains release endorphins which make us feel good and can even induce a phenomenon called a Helper’s High: a literal state of euphoria we feel by helping others!
- Learn (and practice) good communication skills. They are a means by which you develop trust and intensify connection.
- Say “YES” to opportunity! To have more love in your life, be more open to receiving it. That might mean making yourself more available, putting yourself out there, opening doors to possibilities that you have kept closed in the past.
Love is a powerful force that can help you stay healthier and feel more fulfilled in this world. Start with YOURSELF! As in the words of Wilfred Peterson, “Be gentle with yourself, learn to love yourself, to forgive yourself, for only as we have the right attitude toward ourselves can we have the right attitude toward others.”
Something to Think About
We are in the business of people and building relationships. Love comes in a million different forms and shows up in a million different ways in our lives when we are open to it. Be open to it. Watch for it. Embrace it when you find it in all the ways you do. It’s a funny thing about life, when we train ourselves to look for the good – we find more and more of it. Look for the good. Look for the love.
