Just Have Faith

For most of us, faith is a fundamental part of life. We’re taught from a young age that leaning on faith in difficult moments helps us to overcome even the most trying and challenging hurdles that we will face during our life. However, often things don’t go according to plan, and we can be left feeling down. When you are feeling anxious, hearing, “just have faith” can seem like an impossible task.

Here are three things you can do to eliminate those feelings of anxiety and focus on something more positive.

  1. Yoga, prayer, or meditation are all great ways to take your attention off of what is happening and focus on simply nothing for a period of time. No matter how long it takes, just keep trying to block out everything and give yourself a moment of peace. If yoga is not your thing, try escaping to a place surrounded by nature and do breathing exercises. Focus on your breathing, in and out. Sometimes it’s only a minute until you start thinking of everything that is happening. That’s OK, just start again. The goal is to divert your attention for a while to let you mind and your body relax.
  2. If you enjoy music, keep music playing while you are working or at your computer. If it is your favorite music, you will find yourself singing or focused on the music, which is a fun diversion.
  3. Start reading a very engaging book. Focus on the characters and the plot. Anything that diverts your attention during stressful times will help keep you calm and relaxed.

Something to Think About
Here is a great way to look at problems.  Do you have a problem in your life? If not, then why worry? If yes, can you do something about it? If not, then why worry? If yes, then why worry?
