We always have a choice in how we view things. Have you ever looked at a situation and thought, “I wish I could do (activity), but my job is too demanding”. Or, “I wish I could (activity), but it’s out of my control”. Maybe you think you don’t have the time. Circumstances can become easy excuses for not living the fullest, most rewarding life possible.
Each day, we wake up with a clean new slate and decisions to make. In recent months, most of us have felt the strain and drain of a world that can feel very daunting. When that happened, it was the easier choice for many to press pause on the decision-making and just coast enough to get through the day. I get it. It’s a natural response.
However, the “ship” that is the state of the world is not turning around anytime soon so the time to start getting up every day and making good, strong, positive choices that lead to a healthier, happier, more purpose-driven life is now.
While we can’t choose everything that happens in our life, how we choose to see and react to it all is a difference-maker. To quote Randy Pausch from The Last Lecture, “You can’t change the cards you’re dealt with, but you can change how you play them.”
Something to Think About
No matter how things might seem, you have a choice — always. Take action to change your thinking – which in turn, can change your life.
Pick an aspect of your life that you feel you can improve your choices, attitude, and actions. Make this the week you start fueling more joy, more health, and more wealth. Are you ready?
