Mother’s Day is coming up and Mother’s have a special place in the world. Being a good mom does not come with an instruction manual or an online course. Mother’s need to nurture but not smother. They need to support and guide, but not carry. They care about what others care about.
This poem is for moms…
My Mother kept a garden, a garden of the heart.
She planted all the good things that gave my life its start.
She had me face the sunshine and encouraged me to dream.
Fostering and nurturing the seeds of self-esteem.
And when the storms came, she protected me enough.
But not too much because she knew I’d need to stand up strong and tough.
Her constant good example always taught me right from wrong.
Providing markers for my journey to last a lifetime long.
This week, celebrate your mom or the person in your life that provided the care and guidance of a mom.
