Today, communities throughout Canada will be celebrating Victoria Day, a holiday which began as a celebration to honor Queen Victoria. Victoria Day is traditionally a time to spend with family, celebrate with picnics, good food, and often fireworks. Last year, Covid prevented many from celebrating with their families, and is still challenging for many areas this year.
For many Canadians today also marks the end of winter and the unofficial start of Spring. After this weekend, gardeners can be reasonable sure that there will be no more frost until fall so they can start planting flowers and vegetables.
You don’t have to be Canadian to enjoy a “family holiday weekend”, Celebrate the ones you love. Family is one of the most important, if not the most important thing in our lives. Take time every day to appreciate the people in your life.
Something to Think About
We should not have to wait for a holiday to plan family activities or time for fun, but often that is the case. Maybe it’s time to start building more fun and family time into our weeks and our life.
Pull out your calendar and plan out your “fun” trips and activities for the remainder of the year.
