A wise man once faced a group of people who were complaining about the same issues over and over again. One day, instead of listening to the complaints, he told them a joke, and everyone cracked up laughing.
Then, the man repeated the joke, and a few people smiled.
Finally, the man repeated the joke a third time, but no one laughed or even smiled. The man smiled and said, “You won’t laugh at the same joke more than once. So why do you continue to complain about the same problem over and over?”
Don’t waste your time complaining about the same problem and expecting people to react to your complaints. Look for a solution, take action, or present that solution to those who can make the change.
Something to Think About
Happiness comes a lot easier when you stop complaining about your problems and start being grateful for all the problems you don’t have.
When faced with something that you are not happy with, instead of complaining, take action to create a solution.
